Business Card Beauties

I love these two business cards. They are great examples of branding yourself and leaving an excellent first impression. Personally, I would call both of these people just because of how neat their cards are. I think it says a lot about them that they put so much time into these. I can tell that the paper quality is really great and I love how the letters are indented into the paper on both. Great stuff!

Slanty Shelves

Saw this bookshelf on a commercial and I was intrigued. I'm not sure if I like it as opposed to the traditional bookshelf, but I like the inventiveness and the idea that you can change a bookshelf to be anything you want. I have never seen something like this before. Thinking like this opens up so many interior design possibilities.

A Monstrously Good Title Sequence

I realized I haven't posted a great title sequence on my blog in forever. Well here ya go. I saw pieces of this when watching the Pixar documentary and it reminded me how much I love it. Monsters Inc. is one of my favorite Pixar films and the title sequence shows. It uses a fantastic color scheme, creative animation, great typography and even fantastic music. It's just super cute in the most creative way possible.

Gossip Girls and Boys

I have always been a huge Norman Rockwell fan. I love the way he portrays America in such an idealistic way. All his pieces have so much personality and tell such rich stories. This piece above happens to be one of my all-time favorites of Rockwell's. It is called "The Gossips". I love how it portrays the way in which gossip actually spreads and how it usually comes full circle. Everyone's faces are just so realistic and full of expression. I could never get tired of looking at it. It reminds me of a film strip in the way it tells a story.

Provence, France

I think I just found my dream vacation spot! I visited Paris a couple of years ago, and I have to admit, I wasn't obsessed like I thought I'd be. It was crowded, people were rude and it was just not as beautiful as I had hoped. I have always wanted to give the French countryside a shot though, since I spent several years studying french in school and learned a lot about other areas to visit. I discovered this picture of Provence, France this morning and almost had a heart attack. Lavender is my absolute favorite smell and apparently Provence has lavender fields like this everywhere. I can't imagine how good that would smell and how beautiful this sight would be to see. I will definitely have to add it to my travel bucket list.

Cheerful Chocolates

So for my birthday, my friend Lauren took me to a chocolate shop in Columbus called le Chocoholique. I don't think I have ever seen so many chocolates in my life! This was not the coolest part though. The chocolates were the most beautiful chocolates I have ever seen with the craziest flavors EVER. I had trouble justifying eating them because they were too pretty, as you can see in the picture above. Amongst the crazy flavors, the best ones were aged balsamic caramel, lemon honey and passionfruit ganache. Surprising, right? My friend informed me that the maker of these fantastic chocolates is Anna Shea. They are quite pricey, but great for a special occasion, or even just to look at:) I think all food should be this pretty.

Noodle Doodle

Yes, it's true. This sculpture on the tip of a pencil head actually exists. No, it is not an oversized pencil either. Artist Augusto Moreno successfully created these sculptures of politicians for Cicero Magazine. This particular one is of Sarkozy, but there are two others of Obama and Merkel if you click on the link above. I don't think I will ever get over how amazing this is.
